If you are using the following name servers for DNS hosting, your domain will be impacted by this activity:

  • All name servers ending in twtelecom.net
  • All name servers ending in xspedius.net
  • All name servers ending in espire.net
  • All name servers ending in gblx.net

We understand that DNS configuration will vary from customer to customer and we would like to minimize impact to our customers. Contact dnsteam@level3.com now to coordinate a scheduled migration. Please include the following information for security:

  • Company name
  • Account number
  • Domains

5. I am using a different name server not mentioned in your notice, but Level 3 is retrieving my records. Will my domains be impacted and what should I do?

  • Your configuration is different from most customers. Please contact dnsteam@level3.com. for specific steps.

6. I decided to keep the legacy name servers as authoritative name servers at the domain registrar. Is that ok?

  • You should remove all legacy name servers at the domain registrar. Level 3 has ensured that your zones are present in both the old and new architecture to minimize down time. Failure to remove it can result in intermittent non-resolution down the line.

7. Do I need to change the DNS servers we use for internet resolution?

  • No. The only change you need to make will be to establish master-slave relationship between your server and 207.250.222.10.

8. I am using ns3.level3.net and ns4.level3.net and I cannot reach the Internet. Why?

  • ns3.level3.net and ns4.level3.net are strictly for authoritative DNS hosting. Please use resolver1.level3.net (209.244.0.3) and resolver2.level3.net (209.244.0.4) for internet access.

9. I need more time.
