Level 3 Providing Internet Access Service to eBay

Agreement Makes Level 3 One of eBay's Primary Providers of Bandwidth Services

BROOMFIELD, Colo., February 6, 2002 - Level 3 Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:LVLT) today announced that it has signed an agreement to provide Internet access service to eBay Inc., the world's online marketplaceTM.

eBay is using Internet access from Level 3 to deliver services to almost 62 million registered members, who use eBay to buy and sell a wide variety of goods and services over the Internet. The deal makes Level 3 one of eBay's primary providers of bandwidth.
